The Democratic National Convention (DNC) will be held in Charlotte next month. The opening day of the DNC will kick off on September 3 with CarolinaFest 2012 in uptown Charlotte. CarolinaFest is a family friendly celebration designed to bring Americans together directly into the heart of the convention activities. The event is free and will feature interactive expositions, family oriented activities, live music, and speakers. The convention will end Thursday, September 6 with President Barack Obama accepting the Democratic nomination. Community credentials to hear the President’s acceptance speech are available to the public. In addition to the DNC festivities, credit unions will be able to participate in a ribbon cutting ceremony at Charlotte’s Levine Children’s Hospital. Credit Unions partnered with the Democratic National Convention Committee and National Journal to refurbish a playground at the hospital as a special leave behind projected related to the convention. The playground ribbon cutting ceremony will be held the morning of Wednesday, September 5 at the Levine Children’s Hospital.
Later than evening, Credit Unions will host a unique convention celebration at Aria Tuscan Grill in Charlotte.
