HB515, the bill which updates the credit union statutes in NC, passed out of the Judiciary Committee this week and was referred to the House floor. The bill was approved unanimously on two of its three floor votes on Thursday. The third and final vote is scheduled for Monday evening, May 6.
Should the final floor vote go as anticipated, HB515 would then be referred to the Senate. The bill comes in the wake of the overhaul of the NC banking statutes by the Office of the Commissioner of Banks in 2011.
