Credit Unions to Revitalize Rooftop Garden at Levine Children's Hospital

Credit unions in the Carolinas are combining forces to restore, refresh and revitalize a rooftop playground at Levine Children’s Hospital used by young patients and their families who are in need of a break and a deep breath. In the months leading up to the 2012 Democratic National Convention in September, credit unions will work with the Democratic National Convention Committee (DNCC) to convert existing outdoor rooftop space on Levine Children’s Hospital 12th floor into a dynamic play space.

Mountain Credit Union Supports Walk MS - Asheville

The staff of Mountain Credit Union has been a part of National MS Society events for nine years, beginning at the Waynesville Branch, and the Fletcher Branch staff has participated in Walk MS since 2006. This year, several fundraising events were held leading up to the Walk, including a “Charity Booth” at a local restaurant, loose change jars at the teller counters and a Hot Dog and Bake Sale held at the Fletcher Branch. The credit union has raised nearly $20,000 in the fight against Multiple Sclerosis since 2003.

The NW Chapter team raised more than $2,000 for the event and fielded the largest not-for-profit team. The fundraising total got a boost from the chapter's golf tournament, which raised an additional $8,000 for the organization!
