Truliant FCU Celebrates 60 Years of Serivce to Members

First known as Radio Shops Credit Union, the organization later became known as AT&T Family Federal Credit Union. In August 1999, they changed their name to Truliant Federal Credit Union to more accurately reflect the growing and diversified member-owner base.

Charlotte Metro Federal Credit Union Promotes Three

Three Charlotte Metro Credit Union (CMCU) employees have been promoted recently, it was announced by Ann Robbins, SPHR, MSHR, the credit union’s vice president of Human Resources. Leatra White is now branch manager at the main Central Ave. branch, and Jennifer Jarrell is branch manager at the Matthews branch. Andrea Jordan is assistant manager at the Central Ave. branch.

SECU Foundation Receives NC Museum of History Foundation’s Inaugural Corporate Philanthropy Award

During a November 13th event held at the NC Museum of History in Raleigh, the NC Museum of History Foundation announced the SECU Foundation as the recipient of its inaugural 2012 Corporate Philanthropy Award. The award recognizes individuals and organizations for outstanding contributions to the preservation, study or understanding of North Carolina history and also honors exceptional commitment, service and support to history museums or related sites.

Latino Credit Union Launches New Website with Member Video Testimonials and Online Knowledge Center

Latino Community Credit Union (LCCU) recently launched its new user-friendly website which includes the newly released Latino Credit Union Chronicles, a series of member testimonial videos, and an all new online Knowledge Center which features an interactive bilingual financial education module.

Truliant FCU Joins Forces with TV Station for Mortgage Contest

Truliant Federal Credit Union recently joined forces with FOX8 (WGHP) to launch the “Mortgage for a Year” contest, in which a winner from the Triad area will have his or her monthly mortgage payments paid for a year by Truliant. The submission deadline for entries for the contest is Sunday, November 25.

Truliant FCU Announces Merger with Virginia CU Approved

New River Valley Truck Plant Federal Credit Union’s members have approved a merger with Truliant Federal Credit Union. The merger extends additional affordable financial services to employees of the Volvo truck manufacturing facility in Dublin, VA and their family members. The New River Valley Truck Plant FCU had more than $2.4 million in assets and served more than 900 members.

Self-Help Opens 10th Branch in Kinston

Self-Help Credit Union hosted the Grand Opening of its new Kinston branch at 1910 West Vernon Avenue earlier this week in conjunction with the Kinston Chamber of Commerce.

Piedmont Advantage Credit Union Expands into Wilmington

Officials at Piedmont Advantage Credit Union have announced that they will acquire East Coast Credit Union in Wilmington, NC, effective November 30, 2012. On that date, East Coast Credit Union members will officially become part of the Piedmont Advantage family.
 

Fort Bragg Donates to Second Harvest Food Bank of Southeast NC

Credit unions nationwide selected “Savings Sleuth—Solve the Mystery” to be the theme for the 2013 National Credit Union Youth Week™, which will take place April 21-27, 2013. The concept was chosen from ideas submitted by credit union staff this fall.
