Local Government Federal Credit Union (LGFCU) proudly announces the promotion of Jennifer Gleason to Vice President, Membership and Volunteer Development, and Eric Johnson to the position of Vice President, Information Technology.

Through the seasonal program, members purchased nearly 122,000 discount tickets from SECU’s 245 statewide branches to area theme parks in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. This year’s sales surpassed last year’s total by more than $800,000!

Members Credit Union (MCU) kicked off their first financial literacy program at the Piedmont School in High Point, NC. This 2-part program focused on the importance of saving, maintaining a checking account, and the difference between credit unions and banks. MCU’s PR Director, Carla Kimel, and PR Assistant, Andrea Blanton, presented the seminar to 7th and 8th graders.

Ashley Kohlrus, chief experience officer at Allegacy Federal Credit Union, has been named one of the five finalists in the Credit Union Executives Society’s (CUES) 2012 Next Top Credit Union Exec contest. CUES highlights and honors emerging leaders age 35 and under from within the credit union community and recognizes the work they are doing to advance their credit union and the movement.

Members Credit Union and Allegacy Federal Credit Union were recognized as top workplaces in the Piedmont Triad by the Greensboro News & Record this week. The newspaper published the list of top workplaces, which were based exclusively on employee surveys, in a special insert in the Sunday, October 14 edition.

Reporting to the president and CEO, Hall will work at Truliant headquarters in Winston-Salem, where he will assume direct responsibility for leading the operations senior team encompassing consumer, mortgage and business credit areas, as well as all member delivery channels including Member Financial Centers, the Member Contact Center and E-Services

The new appointments are an integral part of LGFCU’s volunteer-driveninitiative not only to educate people on the benefits of credit union membership, but also to relay feedback to the board of directors regarding available/potentially available products and services, delivery of service and member needs.

SECU continues to invest in serving members with convenience and accessibility to branch locations across North Carolina. The steady growth of the Credit Union within the Triad region has resulted in three new branches in Greensboro, NC since March 2012, with another SECU office opening in the area later this year on Battleground Avenue.

In September, Ray Crouse, President of Allegacy Federal Credit Union’s Business Solutions was invited to speak to Irish Credit Unions on the use of CUSOs in the United States and alternative revenue sources.
