Call for Donations: Coastal Federal Credit Union’s Share the Love Community Yard Sale

Coastal Federal Credit Union is accepting donations of gently used household items to be sold at its Share the Love Community Yard Sale on October 27, 2012. Donations will be accepted at Coastal’s 1000 Saint Albans Drive location on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. starting September 21th through October 25th.

Coastal Federal Credit Union has announced the launch of its new Student [Cu] Visa. The card is designed for young adults with no or limited credit history and touts the importance of establishing good financial practices when building credit.

Latino Credit Union to Host Voter Registration Drive in All Branches Across North Carolina September 24 – 28

Latino Credit Union in collaboration with Democracy North Carolina will be registering voters at all Latino Credit Union branch locations across North Carolina. Bilingual volunteers from non-profit organizations Democracy North Carolina, El Cambio in Winston-Salem, El Pueblo, and the Latin American Coalition in Charlotte will register voters from Monday, September 24 through Friday, September 28 in an effort to increase voter turnout in the state.

Eastern Carolina Organics (ECO) today announced that it has secured $1.75 million in funding to transform an East Durham brownfields site into a new distribution center for its rapidly growing organic produce business. It came to the attention of the credit union that a member by the name of Sydney, age 4, was suffering from Rett syndrome. She is in need of a service dog to detect oncoming seizures and improve her quality of life. These types of dogs receive special training, which is very expensive.
