SECU staff are no strangers to the N.C. Foreclosure Prevention Fund offered by the N.C. Housing Finance Agency, and their knowledge has been key in helping hundreds of members obtain the funds needed to stay in their homes.

Allegacy Federal Credit Union, one of the largest credit unions in North Carolina, has opened its new financial center in Wake Forest BioTech Place.

State Employees’ Credit Union (SECU) just concluded its 8th annual Youth Saving Challenge and the Credit Union’s FAT CAT and Zard youth members definitely showed they were up for the challenge! The week-long Challenge resulted in nearly 18,500 members using their “saving power” – opening over 600 new youth accounts and depositing more than $3 million!

During the week-long program, 40 class participants were involved in group exercises, field trips, encouraged to ask questions of visiting speakers, and are required to complete team projects proposing solutions for credit unions to help alleviate or eliminate challenging situations in any given area.

Marine FCU broke their fund raising record at their 18th Annual Charity Golf Tournament! 47 teams participated under blue skies and a nice breeze.

During his dedicated tenure with Allegacy, he has served in a variety of roles including branch manager, loan officer and human resources officer. In his current role, he oversees legislative relationships and community relations.

The new appointments are an integral part of LGFCU’s volunteer-driven initiative not only to educate people on the benefits of credit union membership, but also to relay feedback to the board of directors regarding available/potentially available products and services, delivery of service and member needs.

This year, several fundraising events were held leading up to the Walk, including a “Charity Booth” at a local restaurant, loose change jars at the teller counters and a Hot Dog and Bake Sale held at the Fletcher Branch

State Employees’ Credit Union (SECU) tax preparers have just completed the 2012 tax season, helping nearly 65,000 North Carolina taxpayers claim more than $86 million in refunds and save over $8 million in preparation fees!

The long-awaited SECU Daily Planet is set to open today in conjunction with the 24-hour grand opening of the Nature Research Center (NRC), a new 80,000 square-foot wing of the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences. 50,000 visitors are expected to visit the NRC during the opening event, with the giant, silver globe – SECU Daily Planet – serving as the focal point for the new wing.
