Local Government Federal Credit Union (LGFCU) proudly announces the appointment of Kellie Blue to its Board of Directors. Blue, the finance director for Robeson County, was appointed to fill the seat left vacant by the retirement of Director Emeritus Frances Efird.

State Employees’ Credit Union’s (SECU’s) Board of Directors is pleased to announce the development of a new property management subsidiary --- SECU*Real Estate (SECU*RE). In its initial start-up phase, SECU*RE will provide the Credit Union with the ability to streamline management of real estate owned (REO) properties in North Carolina.

An event hosted February 27 by State Employees’ Credit Union (SECU) welcomed a visit from Tony Almeida, Sr. Advisor to Governor Pat McCrory for Jobs and the Economy. Mr. Almeida was there to show his support of the Credit Union’s participation in North Carolina Business Committee for Education’s (NCBCE’s) Students@Work Week.

A State Employees’ Credit Union (SECU) information and learning session brought together nearly 250 Financial Services Managers (FSMs) from across the State for an engaging, power-packed meeting. The two-day event provided FSMs an opportunity to network with their peers and learn about upcoming changes at the Credit Union.

Naylor has devoted 30 years to the credit union industry, beginning with State Employees’ Credit Union in 1983, rising to the position of Vice President, Audit services. He joined LGFCU in 2000, serving as Executive Vice President for five years before spending the last seven years as EVP at Langley Federal Credit Union in Newport News, Va.

The new appointments are an integral part of LGFCU’s volunteer-driveninitiative not only to educate people on the benefits of credit union membership, but also to relay feedback to the board of directors regarding available/potentially available products and services, delivery of service and member needs.

In the process of remodeling its main headquarters branch, Premier FCU allowed members to write on a "graffiti wall" and share their thoughts about the credit union. The result is a massive wall that is one part testimonial and one part artwork.

Piedmont Advantage Credit Union hosted an open house event in Wilmington, NC on Friday, February 8 in celebration of its recent expansion into southeastern North Carolina. The event took place at the newest Piedmont Advantage Credit Union branch location at 3815 Park Avenue in Wilmington, NC.

In keeping with its strong focus on promoting education and community development, SECU Foundation has provided this year, the first of four planned $200,000 annual grants in support of the newly named State Employees’ Credit Union Emerging Issues Prize for Innovation through the Institute for Emerging Issues (IEI) at NC State University.
