Charlotte Metro Credit Union Promotes Clark, Jordan

Two CMCU employees have been promoted, it was announced by Ann Robbins, the credit union’s senior vice president of Human Resources. Melissa Clark is now the manager of the University branch on West W.T. Harris Blvd. Andrea Jordan was promoted to manager of the Ashley Rd. branch.

Longest Serving U.S. Credit Union Volunteer, Elizabeth “Sis” Hamilton, Leaves The Board After 70 Years

Elizabeth N. Hamilton was just a teenager in 1943 when she became the Secretary of the Board of Directors of Tri-City Telco Credit Union, now Summit Credit Union. After 70 years of service she has decided not to seek reelection to the Credit Union’s Board of Directors, thus making her the longest serving credit union volunteer in US history.

United Federal Credit Union Receives Diamond Awards for Marketing, Business Development Achievements

The awards were presented by the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Marketing & Business Development Council (MBDC), a national network comprised of over 1,100 credit union marketing and business development professionals. Awards were given in each of 33 categories ranging from advertising to community events and beyond.

After a career spanning 38 years with Allegacy Federal Credit Union, longtime CEO, W.K. “Ike” Keener, announced his retirement today. The organization’s board of directors named Cathy Pace, credit union division president, to succeed Keener as chief executive officer.

Triad Chapter of CUaware Hands Out Backpacks to the Homeless

The Triad chapter of the credit union professionals group, CUaware, distributed 62 backpacks filled with personal care items, first aid supplies and canned food to homeless men and women on the corner of North Point Blvd. and North Patterson Ave. in Winston-Salem. The event was part of CUaware’s community service project called Project Backpack.

Welcome Federal Credit Union Deconstructs, Donates Home to Habitat for Humanity

Welcome Federal Credit Union, Habitat for Humanity of Wake County, and the engineering firm Stewart deconstructed a small home located on property that will be the future home of the Main Branch of the Credit Union. Welcome Federal Credit Union staff, Stewart staff, and Habitat staff participated in the deconstruction project that involved dismantling the structure by hand.

 In honor of his distinguished service, leadership, and commitment to SECU and the credit union industry, a retirement reception was held March 28th in Raleigh, NC, at the Nature Research Center, the new wing of the NC Museum of Natural Sciences and home to the SECU Daily Planet.
