Coastal Federal Credit Union has announced its plan to use social media in their effort towards raising $100,000 for the construction of a new Habitat for Humanity of Wake County home scheduled to be built during spring 2013. The fundraising initiative called “Share the Love” will be launched on Coastal’s Facebook and Twitter pages, allowing fans and followers the opportunity to actively participate and contribute towards the strong community-enriching cause.
Coastal is asking individuals to actively engage by liking and/or following them on their Facebook and Twitter pages. In turn, a donation of five dollars for each like and/or follow will go directly to Coastal’s “Share the Love” Habitat fund. Fans and followers will also receive notifications about numerous fundraising events that offer participation and donation opportunities throughout the year.
“Working with Habitat for Humanity of Wake County opens up the opportunity for Coastal members to contribute to a great community building initiative, while also benefiting from the direct insight on our latest products and services and partake in online-only promotional campaigns exclusively through our social media channels.” said David Faleski, Coastal’s Vice President of Marketing.
