| In the process of remodeling its main headquarters branch, Premier FCU allowed members to write on a "graffiti wall" and share their thoughts about the credit union. The result is a massive wall that is one part testimonial, one part birthday card and one part artwork. |
Remodeling a branch can be stressful for credit union staff and members alike, but Premier FCU has managed to make the remodel of its headquarters branch location in Greensboro fun for everyone. The credit union set aside one wall and allowed members to grab a Sharpie and write whatever was on their minds.
The result is impressive: the large section of wall is nearly covered with member testimonials, drawings and good wishes for Premier's "face lift." Some other members chose to go the humorous route, with the iconic "Kilroy Was Here" showing up on the 25 foot section of wall.
“The response has been more than we ever anticipated, " said Premier FCU President/CEO Lori Thompson.. “It didn't take long at all for members to dive right in and fill up the wall. The positive comments and praise for our staff mean so much to us. After all, we are here to serve them and when they share their appreciation, there is no better compliment. It’s amazing the fun and inspiration that evolved from an impromptu idea!"
The remodel happens as Premier marks its 50th anniversary. Some members took time to wish Premier a Happy Birthday.
While Premier originally planned for the member's artwork to be temporary, the response by members has been so enthusiastic, the credit union is giving thought to preserving it. "We might have a photographer come in and get pictures of it and then we'll have it printed on a canvas or something like that," said Thompson.
The remodel will be completed by spring.
