The Town of Fletcher, which was incorporated in 1989, is located in Henderson County, North Carolina approximately 13 miles south of Asheville. Since its incorporation, the Town has nearly doubled its population. Between 1990 and 2000, the population grew from 2,787 to 4,185. This growth has continued to an estimated 7,187 in 2010, based on the 2010 US Census. “Its great to have Mountain Credit Union as a part of our community, it’s development and the Fletcher Area Business Association. We appreciate their support and attendance of this event,” said Mark Biberdorf, Fletcher Town Manager.
Mountain CU has been a part of the Fletcher Community since 1985, four years before the town was incorporated. “Mountain Credit Union has watched this community grow and we have been keeping an eye on this development for the last several years,” said Chris Angel, who has been the Branch Manager in Fletcher for the past 7 years. “The dedication of the Mayor, the Town Council and Town Manager really shows their perseverance and I think their hard work on this project will pay off in a big way for the people in the town of Fletcher and surrounding areas.”
