Phil Greer, the SVP of Loan Administration for State Employees' Credit Union, passed away Friday, March 9th. He was 63.
As Senior Vice President of Loan Administration for State Employees’ Credit Union, Phil was responsible for all lending functions. State Employees’ Credit Union has $24 billion in assets, with over $13.5 billion in real estate and personal loans. Through a network of 240 branches throughout North Carolina, the Credit Union serves 1.7 million members. Phil was with State Employees’ Credit Union for 32 years.
In addition to his years of service to the members of SECU, Phil took a very active role in the credit union movement. He served for nine years as a member of the Executive Committee for the CUNA Lending Council, including two years as Chairman. Phil served as a member of the CUNA Governmental Affairs Sub Committee for Consumer Protection. He was also a past member of the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac Credit Union Advisory Boards.
Phil was a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill with a BS degree in Business Administration. He leaves behind his wife of 41 years, two adult daughters (and spouses) and five grandchildren.
