Allegacy Federal Credit Union’s 13th annual “Don’t Wait” Benefit Golf Tournament held recently at Bermuda Run Country Club in Davie County netted almost $46,000 to benefit Cancer Services, Inc. To-date, the tournament has raised more than $630,000 which goes directly to breast and ovarian cancer survivors, and women in the community who want to learn prevention and early detection techniques. Cancer Services covers residents in Forsyth, Davie, Stokes, and Yadkin Counties and all services, from financial assistance to medical supplies, special programs, advocacy and more are offered at no charge.
“We are thankful and humbled by our employees, members and friends and family who continue to show such passion for giving back to the community,” said CEO/president, W.K. (Ike) Keener Jr. “The contributions from the tournament mean more breast and ovarian cancer survivors can receive assistance and more in-depth help than ever before. We appreciate the dedication and positive impact that Cancer Services provides to women and their families in our community.”
“We are thrilled to be in such an outstanding partnership with Allegacy Federal Credit Union,” said Tara O’Brien, CEO, Cancer Services. “Money raised will immediately impact survivors in our community and help us live out our mission to enhance the quality of life for those living with cancer and to provide the gift of life through education.”
Next year’s tournament is scheduled for October 10, 2013.
