In April of this year, Marine FCU’s Director Emeritus, Bill Hemmingway, received the news every parent dreads. His son, Bruce, was severely injured in a wreck caused by someone failing to yield the right-of-way. Bruce is now adjusting to life as a quadriplegic.
In the spirit “Taking Care Of Our Own,” Marine FCU employees purchased raffle tickets to take a chance that their ticket would be one of the winners for three personal vehicle detailing jobs, courtesy of the Super Six … Jeff Clark, COO; Maria Dempster, SVP of Human Resources; Wendy McGill, SVP of Marketing, Bob Dickerson, EVP; Terry Shepard, CFO; and Craig Chamberlin, President/CEO. At the last minute, Craig Chamberlin incurred an injury, so Frank Davis, VP of Security and Risk Management stepped in. They paired up in teams of two with buckets, hoses, and sponges. Despite getting soaked by each other, the Super Six (plus one) managed to detail all three vehicles in just over an hour while the winners watched!
Proceeds from this fund raiser went to Bruce’s medical expenses.
