In recent months, the White House has developed a new website that lists the counties in each state that fall into a High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA). BSA officers should review this site to determine if changes in their credit union’s BSA and OFAC risk assessments should be modified. HIDTA counties increase the risk to the credit union for money laundering from drug activity. The new website is www.nhac.org.
