The League and Credit Unions Gear up for Convention Week in Charlotte ... Event Details & Impacts Here

Posted on August 30, 2012

The League is working to obtain as much information as possible regarding parking and access for our event at Aria Tuscan Grill on Wednesday, September 5. The event time is from 3:00 PM – 5:30 PM.

The League is extremely excited that this event will be well attended! Currently, more than 300 of the most politically active people from North Carolina and other states are planning to attend, including state and federal legislators.

As you can imagine, traffic will be significantly impacted. However, the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Agencies are providing information on road closures, parking and other restrictions to assist with your DNC travel plans.

Aria is located on 100 N. Tryon St. so parking near the restaurant will be restricted.

Attached here, please find information that will provide details about parking and ways to better navigate your way around Charlotte.

The restaurant has also been providing details and the League will update you on those as they are received. At this point, the Hearst Tower garage entrance on 5th street is taking daily parkers. However, since parking will be in great demand, please consider having numerous parking plans.

Forms of public transportation, including the rail system, will still be available but with restrictions. The above attachment outlines the restrictions.

If you have not submitted your RSVP but plan to attend, please contact Pam Melton of the League at 919-457-9067.

Please know that the League will do its best to keep you informed as details are received. Future updates will be provided to attendees on the RSVP list.

In addition to the reception, credit unions will celebrate the dedication of the Rooftop Garden at Levine Children's Hospital. Please click here if you would like to attend this event.
