The League’s Regulatory Report Keeps Credit Unions Informed

Posted on December 22, 2011

As the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau continues to move forward on a number of initiatives and as other regulatory agencies issue new proposals, the League continuously strives to keep credit unions abreast of all these developments. With that in mind, the League designed The Regulatory Report to serve as a quick reference guide for credit unions on the happenings within the regulatory landscape.

The report, which started in early September and is usually issued on a weekly basis, summarizes the advocacy efforts of the League and CUNA and outlines any recent developments from regulatory agencies. Credit unions are also given opportunities to share their likes and/or dislikes of proposals with League staff.

“It’s important for credit unions to have a voice in the process and shape the final outcomes of proposed changes,” commented Lauren Whaley of the League. “When input is necessitated on the operational impact of a proposal, the League can use The Regulatory Report to communicate with credit unions and encourage feedback.”
