Registration Now Open for the 8th Annual Carolinas Cup Charity Golf Event!

Posted on February 9, 2012

Golfers representing credit unions from North and South Carolina will tee it up against each other in the Eighth Annual Carolinas Cup charity golf event April 1-3, 2012, with proceeds benefiting the Victory Junction Gang Camp, which has raised more that $330,000 for the camp since its inception.

Registration is now open for the three-day event at the Ballantyne Resort and Lodge in Charlotte, NC, which is being hosted by the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation, the North and South Carolina credit union leagues and CUNA Mutual Group.  Proceeds will go to The Carolinas Credit Union Foundation for the Victory Junction Gang Camp, a year-round NASCAR-themed facility in Randleman, NC.

Founded by Kyle and Pattie Petty in memory of their son, Adam, a NASCAR driver killed in a racing accident in 2000, Victory Junction is designed to enrich the lives of children with chronic illnesses by creating camping experiences that are exciting, fun, physically safe and medically sound.

This year's event starts with an evening reception on April 1, followed by a two-day Ryder Cup-style golf tournament.  The winning team members will take the Carolinas Cup back to their home state.  Also this year, don't play golf?  Then why not join us on April 2nd for both the silent and live auction banquet.  Already on the auction line-up?  Autographed guitars from Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd, these are not to be missed!  Besides participation, donations of auction items and sponsorships are greatly appreciated.  Registration is required.

Contact CUNA Mutual’s Tracy Tormey for more details at 800-356-2644, ext. 4302, or tracy.tormey@cunamutual.com.  People may register here until the March 9th deadline.
