John Bell of North Carolina Community Federal Credit Union in Goldsboro has successfully won the Primary Election for House District 10, representing Greene, Lenoir and Wayne Counties. Bell is the Manager of Sales and Business Development at the credit union.
The May 8 Republican Primary, pitted Bell against incumbent Rep. Stephen LaRoque. Bell won the primary by 36 votes. However, Rep. LaRoque requested a recount. The result of the recount confirmed Bell as the winner by 39 votes.
Bell can now turn his focus towards November. He will face Democrat Jim Hardison in the November General Election. House District 10 is rated as a strong Republican District. Therefore, political analysts predict that Bell will be the likely winner in November.
The League is supportive of Bell’s candidacy and is extremely excited about the election results. CUPAC, the League’s Political Action Committee, gave a campaign contribution to his Primary Election Campaign.
This is an incredible opportunity for credit unions as we could potentially have one of our own helping to represent our interests at the North Carolina General Assembly.
