Fourteen North Carolina credit union representatives spent Wednesday on Capitol Hill updating members of Congress on the status of credit union legislative priorities. While the member business lending activity in the US Senate dominated the discussions, credit unions also discussed ATM disclosure legislation, supplemental capital, and exam fairness.
“For the most part, the issues weren’t new to our members of Congress,” shared Dan Schline, SVP of Association Services with the League. “But the trip was another opportunity for credit union representatives to talk directly with our members of Congress.”
“Many of the folks on this trip have participated many times in Hike the Hill over the years,” added Schline. “They have developed relationships with legislators that bring real value to our efforts.”
