Posted on May 24, 2012

Credit union riders are packing their gear and getting ready for a six day, 366 mile trek across eastern NC next week! The members of Team Little Guy are riding to raise money, as well as participate in the North Carolina portion of the 2012 Community Tour.

The ride kicks off Tuesday, May 29th in Shallotte and will pass through Wilmington to the north. From there, the ride heads inland and passes through Bladen County Wednesday. By Thursday, the ride will reach Dunn.

After an early morning breakfast event sponsored by State Employees' CU in Dunn the ride heads to the Triangle, reaching Raleigh Friday evening. From there, the riders head to Durham Saturday, June 2nd for the Co-op-A-Fair event in Diamond View Park.

After a day of fun in Durham, the riders will leave Sunday morning on their way to Clarksville, VA where their portion of the ride will end.

The purpose of the ride is to raise funds for the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation and Levine Children's Hospital. All funds raised will be used to renovate the rooftop garden of the Charlotte facility.

John Radebaugh and Eric Gelly (NC Credit Union League) will be joined by Jeff Jones (CEO, Freedom FCU) on the entire 366 mile route. In addition, David Brehmer (CEO, First Carolina Corporate CU) and John McGrail (CEO, Carolinas CU Foundation) will ride portions of the route. McGrail will also provide rider support to the team through most of the ride course.
