|John McGrail is President/CEO of the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation.
It's the time of year when students are deciding their next move and for many planning to go to college they are looking for funding sources. Many of our credit unions as well as the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation are one of many scholarship sources. The Scholarship program under the umbrella of "The Scholar Vision Fund" is an integral and major program of the Foundation. The CCUF administers the scholarship program through credit unions in North and South Carolina. Applications are disbursed to the individual credit credit unions that in turn distributes the application to members.
Credit Unions that today have endowed scholarship funds include Blue Flame CU, Truliant FCU, Allegacy FCU, Summit CU, Members CU, and Local Government FCU. In addition to the credit union funds, the CCUF budgets an amount that is granted from the Foundation's General Operating Fund.
Applications are now available and can be found at the CCUF's website www.carolinasfoundation.org. If your credit union is interested in establishing an endowed scholarship fund please contact John P. McGrail, President/CEO of the Foundation, at email@example.com or 704.305.7587.
Enabling students to become the workforce of the future is a wonderful example of our corporate philosophy of people helping people. Thank you for being a part of the Foundation's mission and legacy of helping our members and their communities.
