The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has issued a final rule under the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) to require most non-government employers to post a new notice to inform employees of their rights. These rights include information pertaining to union organizing, bargaining through a union with their employers, and refraining from such activities. These changes under the NLRA aim to increase the knowledge of employees and to promote statutory compliance by employers and unions. The NLRB and its regional offices will have electronic and printed copies (included translated versions) of the required notice no later than November 1, 2011.
The rule is effective as of November 14, 2011 and will require employers to post the new notice.
