General Description: The Member Contact Center provides service to members and co-workers from all locations. This service is provided by answering member phone calls or replying to general e-mail, member secured messages, and other electronic requests. It is critical that the employee is attentive to changes in products and services and can quickly adapt to new processes and responsibilities. The employees do not see members; however they do directly service members and must work to provide excellent service through several channels of communication.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Respond to secured messages, e-mails, and other electronic requests accurately and professionally, and in a timely manner. A specific rate of message processing is outlined in the employee’s performance plan.
• Process member telephone calls accurately and professionally with a courteous and attentive manner. A specific rate of call processing is outlined in the employee’s performance plan.
• Handle member inquiries, and be able to problem solve to meet member requests at the lowest level to prevent escalated issues.
• Perform account maintenance activities accurately and in a timely manner. Review and approve fee refunds up to limits set in the department procedures.
• Maintain a current knowledge of Coastal products, policies and procedures by regularly reviewing the company intranet and extranet, participating in training and reading all related notices and e-mails.
• Provide excellent service by maintaining an efficient, effective, courteous, and professional relationship with co-workers, internal customers and Coastal members.
Position requirements:
• One year financial institution experience. • One year call-center experience. • High school diploma or equivalent. • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written. • Proficiency with computers; familiarity with online banking services preferred.

Be the on-site, go-to person when a member needs the “manager” or support departments need something from the branch. Also coordinate staffing and branch operations with the manager.

Position requirements:
One year of experience with the use/operation, implementation or support of a major financial service software application.
Related college degree is preferred; however, two years of relevant professional work experience may be considered in substitute.
Excellent communication skills.
Knowledge of eCommerce systems such as Mobile Banking, Home Banking, and Bill Pay preferred.
Proficiency with all versions of Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, and Internet Explorer.

Chief Financial Officer #12012 (12/1/2011)Part 1: Position Summary The CFO oversees and directs several finance, accounting and operational control functions. The CFO provides financial analysis and operational oversight of certain departments to support the policy decisions of senior management and the Board of Directors. Departments which report directly to the CFO include: Financial Services, Information Technology, Human Resources, Security, Delinquency Control, and Building Maintenance. The position’s chief accountabilities include developing and administering financial record keeping, cash management and control systems that accurately account for the financial activities and conditions of the credit union in accordance with regulatory and accounting standards. It is accountable for developing and executing asset/liability and investment policies and programs that ensure appropriate levels of interest rates, liquidity and credit risk are established and not exceeded. The position entails cost accounting and profitability analysis and is also accountable for ensuring that the operations of the credit union are conducted in compliance with legislative and regulatory directives, as well as establishing and maintaining internal control and preventing/detecting fraud by adherence to internal policies and guidelines. Further, it is accountable for protecting the assets of the credit union by obtaining appropriate insurance coverage’s. Problem Solving: The individual holding this position is expected to independently assess and establish policies and procedures to ensure compliance with a broad range of accounting, regulatory and business standards. This individual monitors and reports the results to a wide audience and makes recommendations where appropriate and accomplishes much of this by working through others both directly under their control as well as outside the department or credit union. Work is substantially complex and varied and requires the interpretation of technical and detailed guidelines, policies, and procedures, in combination. Analytical ability is needed to gather and interpret data where answers can be found only after careful analysis. Problems typically require significant analysis and judgment. Part 2: Principal Responsibilities and Duties 1. Provide executive leadership to staff members within the departments of Financial Services, Information Technology, Human Resources, Security, Delinquency Control and Building Maintenance which serve the Credit Union’s membership 2. Ensure that staff maintains appropriate financial records, and audit as necessary. Provides approvals as deemed appropriate for invoices, accounts payables, etc. 3. Support the BOD strategic planning process designed to formulate the credit union’s vision and strategic direction. Provide recommendations to CEO/President based on financial analysis and projections, cost identification and allocation, and revenue/expense analysis.
Principal Responsibilities and Duties continued… 4. Prepare monthly and yearly financial statements which comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Attend monthly Board meetings and annual planning sessions to present financial reports and projections. 5. Prepare and present an annual budget for Board approval which encompasses short and long-term strategic and operational goals. Monitor progress and report concerns to CEO/President. 6. Oversees and provides all necessary materials for monthly internal audits, annual external audits and regulatory exams. Coordinate with other executives and managers to comply with audit and exam results. 7. Formulate and revise pertinent procedures, policies, and standards as needed. 8. Generate and review appropriate systematic reports and financial statements to determine progress and status in attaining objectives, and recommend changes in objectives and plans in accordance with current financial conditions. 9. Evaluate performance of subordinates for compliance with established policies/procedures and objectives of the credit union. 10. Promote and represent the credit union throughout the community, business partners, and regulatory bodies in a professional manner. 11. Serve as a member of the ALMAC Committee and the Rate Review Committee. Recommend appropriate product rates/yields and services pricing changes for Committee and/or Board approval. 12. Administrate all applicable Board policies. 13. Cooperate with all credit union committees in the performance of their responsibilities. 14. Serve as an effective project leader to ensure success of vital and critical programs, projects, and operations as assigned by President/CEO. Part 3: Key Functions: • Develop and oversee the cash management, accounts payable/receivable and ACH’s functions. • Develop and oversee the financial reporting for the credit union. • Develop and oversee the strategic planning and budgeting functions. • Develop and oversee the cost accounting and profitability analysis. • Provide support to the Asset Liability Committee by developing policies and preparing analysis of investments and funding alternatives. • Develop and oversee the investment and borrowing activities. • Oversee the external audit and regulatory exam processes with the assistance of the Internal Auditor. • Oversee the regulatory compliance program. • Annually reviews and updates the insurance coverage’s of the credit union including bonding, property and casualty, directors, volunteers and employees, workers compensation, lending, healthcare, etc. • Supervise and manage accounting, internal audit and compliance personnel. Develop a highly motivated, collaborative and participative team environment. • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, motivating, and counseling employees. Sets clear expectations for employee performance and responsibilities, evaluates progress and provides feedback.
Part 4: Position Requirements and Qualification Guidelines 1. Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field of study. Must have a minimum of five years of financial institution experience (preferably in a credit union or not-for-profit business). 2. Must have demonstrated experience in managing finance accounting, investment practices, budgeting, internal control, reporting, and business development. 3. Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. 4. Must be skilled in examining, developing, revising and recommending financial, HR and technology operational policies and procedures. 5. Must have a strong commitment to being a team player and dedicated to developing team members from all other departments. 6. Work requires professional written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills. Must be able to communicate and interact with officials at all levels as well as work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community, with credit union auditors, and with regulatory examiners. Must have the ability to motivate managers and simultaneously manage several projects. 7. Minimum of two years of experience in a senior level financial leadership role, and/or a total of five years in a financial managerial role. 8. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and database products and be familiar with specialized IT applications for general/ledger, accounts payable/receivable, fixed assets, asset liability management and investments. 9. Residence in Wayne County, NC is required.
