Reporting your financial literacy efforts (12/20/2005)Your Credit Union Counts!!
Our thanks to the 22 credit union presenters in North Carolina that have registered with NYIB!! The Credit Union National Youth Involvement Board – http://www.nyib.org/ reported reaching 3,280 North Carolina students from 113 NEFE HSFPP presentations during the 2005-2006 school year as of October 31, 2005.
We hope to see your name here by the end of the school year. Reporting is a breeze, so log on and get credit for your good works during the 2005-2006 school year. Visit http://www.nyib.org for details. And remember, all financial literacy presentations are eligible, not just NEFE. Presentations can be made to scout troops, church groups, summer camps, college orientations, etc., so be sure to report your work!
Reporting Youth Financial Education Efforts--not just for NEFE!
Many Credit Union staff across our state are making a difference in the financial future of our youth. They have presented not only the NEFE High School Financial Planning Program, but topics that include checking, CU philosophy and CU careers. The NYIB network has established a database that tracks theses presentations around the country. Many of our CUs have registered their NEFE presentations. In fact, from July 2004 until October 2005, over 5,000 youth have been reached through over 300 presentations!!
However, there are even more great things happening. We need you to report your great work. The NYIB database records all types of financial presentations in addition to NEFE. Let your efforts be known! To register, go to www.nyib.org and click on "Classroom Presentations" or email Ed Agnoli for more information. The database is a great resource to show legislators and educators how Credit Unions are continuing the people helping people philosophy through financial education. Record your presentations today!
